Our July issue is a celebration of summer. The days are long and warm (we hope) and school is soon to finish another academic year; there’s no better time to step outside and make the most of everything the season has to offer. We’ve packed this month’s pages with inspiration for families looking to fill their school holiday weeks with a little adventure. Head to p33 for the start of our 12-page guide, from museums and National Trust properties that are great to explore to adrenaline fuelled adventures there’s something here to keep every age entertained — and perhaps even help you discover a new favourite spot close to home.
As well as keeping the kids engaged over their six-week break our news pages offer some great local events to look out for too. There is Frome Open Arts Trail and The Mid-Somerset Show (p14), tours of the Moulton Estate in Bradford on Avon (p16) and The Three Musketeers are coming to Manor Farm courtesy of local outdoor theatre company Illyria (p18).
No summer would be complete without a visit to a great local pub. We’ve explored some of the finest spots where you can unwind in a sunny beer garden, enjoy a refreshing drink, and savour some delicious seasonal menus (from p20). And for days in, The Food Wife offers some easy to make no-churn ice cream recipes to help you keep cool too (p27).
So pour yourself something cool, find a sunny corner, and let this issue be your guide to a memorable July.As ever, all your other favourite features are in here too, enjoy!
