From now until December 2026 the Dorothy House Hospice grounds will glow with Moments of Light, a breathtaking, world-premiere installation by internationally renowned artist Bruce Munro.

Open to the public, this extraordinary experience has transformed seven acres of Hospice land into a mesmerising landscape of 30,000 points of light, inviting visitors to wander among thousands of illuminated forms and experience the magic of Bruce Munro’s captivating vision.

Running until 31 December, Moments of Light offers a rare opportunity to pause, reflect and share a special moment with friends, family or simply in your own company. Whether visiting to remember someone special, find a moment of peace or experience something beautiful together, the installation promises an evening of quiet awe, connection and togetherness.

The response from the community has already been remarkable, with 13,000 tickets booked ahead of the opening on 1 October and some evenings already sold out. It’s a powerful reflection of how much this event means to the community — and an opportunity to turn that support into something truly meaningful for the people who need Dorothy House Hospice.

A light to remember someone special

At the heart of Moments of Light is the opportunity to dedicate a light on a Firefly. This beautiful, personal gesture offers visitors a way to honour someone special, celebrate a life or hold precious memories close. Each dedication will become part of a growing constellation of remembrance, bringing together individual stories of love, loss and hope.

Free tickets, with donations that make a real difference

Moments of Light has been created as a gift to the community. All tickets are free because Dorothy House Hospice believes everyone should have the opportunity to experience this special event, without financial barriers.

However, while entry is free, the care Dorothy House Hospice provides is not without cost. As a charity, Dorothy House relies on the generosity of its supporters to provide free, personalised care for people in the last 1,000 days of life, alongside vital support for the families and loved ones around them. Donations are essential to the charity’s long-term financial sustainability, helping ensure it can continue to be there for people when they need it most.

Every donation, whatever the amount, can make a tangible difference to someone’s life:

  • £35 could pay for two hours of a Hospice at Home carer’s time, giving a patient’s family much-needed respite.
  • £60 could pay for two hours with a specialist child bereavement counsellor, helping a young person navigate their grief.
  • £100 could pay for a two-hour group session for bereaved teenagers, providing a safe space to share their experiences and cope with loss.
  • £1,055 could pay for a full week of daytime care at home, delivered by a compassionate carer, providing essential support, giving families respite and helping someone remain at home at the end of their life.

These are just some of the ways donations can help Dorothy House Hospice deliver compassionate, personalised care when it matters most.

Visitors are warmly encouraged to make a donation when booking their free ticket. By giving what they can, visitors can help ensure that the light of Moments of Light reaches far beyond the Hospice grounds, making a lasting difference to people and families facing some of life’s most difficult moments.

Be part of something meaningful

Whether visitors come to dedicate a Firefly, remember someone they love, enjoy a special evening with family and friends or simply experience the wonder of 30,000 points of light, Moments of Light is an invitation to find beauty, connection and hope in the darkness.

And by making a donation, visitors can help Dorothy House Hospice continue its vital work across the community, supporting people at the end of life and those who love them.

Moments of Light is open to the public from 1 October to 31 December 2026. Tickets are free, but donations are vital. Every gift, whatever its size, helps Dorothy House Hospice be there for more people during the moments that truly matter.
